Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year everyone!

Did you make resolutions?   A lot of mine have to do with slowing down.  But that's hard to do with so much fun on the agenda!   So I'll do my darndest and in the meantime try to follow up with my resolution to keep you better posted on what's happening in Central Coast Wine Country via this blog.

The first six months of Ruby Shoes Wine Club has been a whirlwind and Janice, the board and I were able to catch our breath a little over the holidays.   But after meeting with some of our upcoming partner wineries, we're fired up to get going again.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

We recently wrapped up a tough "biz-niss" meeting up at our next featured winery, Daou Vineyards in the Adelaida area of Paso Robles.   If you haven't been yet, you should schedule a visit soon.   And here's a perfect opportunity to do so.   Ruby Shoes will be holding its pickup party for any members who happen to be in the area Friday, March 22nd.

If you don't live here and have been thinking about a visit to the Central Coast, that would be a great weekend to make it happen.   The hills are getting green with our winter rains and by then you will likely feel like you are driving through Ireland as you make the drive to Daou and other wineries in the area.

Come a little early and enjoy the Zinfandel Festival, a celebration of one of the oldest varietals in this area, (and personally one of my favorites produced in this area.)

If you can't wait that long, the Monarch Butterflies have returned to their hide-out in Pismo Beach and it's something to see.  They'll be here until about March but are putting on shows daily now.   To see what I'm talking about, click here.  And the natural wonder of birthing season for the Elephant Seals at San Simeon is happening right now as well. Check that out by clicking here.

The point is, the shortest day of the year has come and gone, and days are getting longer and prettier here on the Central Coast and it just keeps getting better from here on out.   So pull out your calendars, take a look at ours (click here) and start planning.   Don't forget Ruby Shoes members are privy to great discounts and special perks at local hotels and attractions, and the two I just mentioned are FREE!   So let us know if you are inclined and we'll hook you up with plenty of proof the Central Coast Wine Country is the best anywhere!

Cheers my friends!
